CALL FOR PAPERS
Pomoerium - Studia et commentarii ad orbem classicum spectantia (ISSN
0945-2354; online available at: http://pomoerium.eu/pomoer.htm),
invites contributions for volumes 7 and 8.
The journal aims to contribute to the exploration and understanding of
religious and socio-economic processes in the classical antiquity and provides an interdisciplinary
forum for the discussion of their various aspects. Topics may include but are not limited to the following: ancient history,
classical philology, linguistics, law, religion, philosophy, numismatics, archaeology,
anthropology. Articles on classical antiquity in Italy are particularly
welcome. Articles may be written in English, French, German, Italian or Spanish.
Please consider submitting a paper, book review, annotated bibliography etc.
Texts must be submitted by e-mail and accompanied (articles) by an abstract
of no more than 150 words (format RTF, MS Word all versions, incl. fonts).
Submitting an Article
(1) Articles should include the title, abstract, and key words but not the
author's name or any other identifying information, and should be formatted
as described below.
(2) An e-mail message with the article as an attachment to Pomoerium should
be sent to info@pomoerium.eu. Use "Submission" as the subject in the email
address block. The message should include (1) the author's name, (2) the
title of the article, (3) an abstract of no more than 150 words, and (4) any
relevant information about the author, including institutional affiliation,
mailing and e-mail addresses.
Submission Requirements
Articles for submission must be previously unpublished. Papers should be
well-written, and we encourage grace as well as clarity. It is important
that papers be copy-edited carefully before submission. Drafts are not
acceptable. In submitting work to Pomoerium, authors agree to the policies
of this journal, including free access and use of the material published in
it with, of course, proper acknowledgment of authorship and source.
All articles will be blind-refereed except when invited. The decision of the
editorial board is final. Articles accepted for publication will be
copyrighted by Pomoerium.
Because Pomoerium relies on the generosity of scholars who contribute their
time to review articles, we ask that authors not submit their work to other
journals at the same time. By using computer technology throughout, we
expect that the review process will move quickly and that authors will be
notified in a reasonable time. In sending work to Pomoerium for possible
publication, the submitter attests that the work is original and that he or
she is the author, that it has not been published, and that it is not under
consideration for publication elsewhere.
Deadline for completed texts is December 31, 2010, however submissions are
encouraged at all times and will be considered for the next upcoming issues.
Contributions will appear in the electronic edition accessible in the Web in
the PDF format (without print option).
All submissions and correspondence should be directed to the editor.

The project Pomoerium will focus on the achievements of classics-related sciences, and examine socio-economic and religious transformations, not as a stream of disjointed events, but as an intelligible and determinate process, whether involving a shorter or a longer time span. |
 |
 |
It constitutes the efforts to render accessible to the interested public hardly-known ideas, journals and books and aims to contribute to the exploration and understanding of religious and socio-economic processes in the classical antiquity and provide an interdisciplinary forum for the discussion of their various aspects.

 |
Finally it serves furthermore as a naturally forum for the presentation and discussion of noteworthy issues, including the presentation of minority or at times controversial points of view.
